The West Bengal State Rural Development Agency (WBSRDA), under the PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) scheme, invited a tender for the upgradation of the road from MLR09 – Shyaamchak to Kalinagar via Chandibhetibar, Kaliagachhia. This road project falls under the Contai-II Block in the Purba Medinipur district. The total length of the road to be upgraded is 16.280 km, and it has been listed under Package No. WB-19-303.
The upgradation work is aimed at improving rural road connectivity in the region, ensuring safer and more efficient travel for local residents. It is a part of the larger PMGSY initiative to provide all-weather road access in rural and semi-urban areas, directly supporting economic activity and regional development.
The financial bids for the project were officially opened on 25th February 2025. Several infrastructure firms submitted proposals, and after technical and financial evaluation, Sushila Engineering Pvt. Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder for the contract.
The total estimated value of the project is approximately ₹21.05 crore(210548577.8). Once awarded, the selected contractor will carry out road strengthening, widening, and surface improvement works as per WBSRDA and PMGSY standards.
