The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through its P6 Delhi division and Regional Office in Mumbai, has floated a tender for a key highway development project in Maharashtra. This project aims to enhance regional road infrastructure by improving connectivity across important routes in the state.
The tender includes the widening, reconstruction, and upgradation of two critical stretches—Ahmednagar to Sabalkhed and Ashti to Chinchpur. The roads will be upgraded to a 2-lane with paved shoulders (2LPS) or four-lane configuration, depending on the traffic needs of each section. The project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, ensuring time-bound and quality-controlled delivery.
The financial bid for this project was opened on February 7, 2025. After evaluating all the proposals, RRSM Infra Pvt. Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder. Their submission met the necessary technical and financial criteria as outlined by MoRTH, making them the leading contender for the contract award.
The estimated cost of this road infrastructure project is approximately ₹268.88 crores(2688800000). Once awarded, the construction is expected to begin soon, contributing to better road safety, faster travel, and economic growth in the region.
