The Directorate General Border Roads Organisation (BRO), through HQ CE (Project) Deepak in Shimla, has floated a critical tender aimed at enhancing road infrastructure in the high-altitude terrain of Himachal Pradesh. This initiative is part of ongoing strategic connectivity efforts in border regions under Project Deepak.
The scope of the tender involves surfacing works, which include laying a two-layer Wet Mix Macadam (WMM) of 75 mm, Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM), and 40 mm Bituminous Concrete (BC). The project also entails cleaning of the existing road surface, application of Prime Coat (PC) and Tack Coat (TC), and road marking to improve safety and functionality.
The specified stretch runs from Km 0.000 to Km 22.500 on the SMD Road, under the jurisdiction of the 108 RCC and 759 BRTF road sector. This segment is crucial for military logistics and civilian transport in challenging hill conditions, ensuring all-weather connectivity.
