The Public Works Department (PWD) – Roads and Bridges, under the Ujjain CE Ujjain Zone, has issued a tender for the construction of four-laning of the A.B. Road (Old NH-3) in the Maksi city portion, covering a total stretch of 5.65 kilometres. The project also involves pole shifting work to accommodate the widened carriageway. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Division Shajapur.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing road capacity, easing congestion, and improving safety standards for both local and through traffic. The four-lane configuration will ensure smoother vehicular movement, while the pole shifting is an essential step in creating an obstruction-free and efficient transport corridor.
The tender process was conducted by PWD – Roads and Bridges, Ujjain CE Ujjain Zone, with the financial bid opening scheduled for 28th July 2025. The project attracted bids from competent contractors with expertise in urban road widening and related utility relocation works.
After evaluation, Kushwah Construction Company emerged as the lowest bidder, securing the opportunity to execute the project. Their selection reflects the department’s trust in their ability to deliver a high-quality outcome within the designated timeframe.
The total estimated value of the project is ₹27,90,50,995.6, marking it as a key investment in strengthening urban road infrastructure in Maksi city.
