The Public Works Region – Pune, through the Public Works Circle, Kolhapur, and the Public Works Division, Kolhapur, has invited a tender for the improvement of a key road corridor starting from State Highway-196 near Kolhapur ITI, Pachgaon, Vadgaon, Khebawade, and extending up to Bamni on MDR-30. The project covers a stretch from Km 0/00 to Km 14/400 in Taluka Karveer, District Kolhapur, serving as an important regional and rural connectivity route.
This road plays a vital role in facilitating daily commuter movement, agricultural transport, and access to educational and industrial areas around Kolhapur city. The proposed improvement works aim to enhance road surface quality, strengthen pavement structure, and improve safety standards, ensuring smoother and more reliable travel for both local and through traffic.
The financial bid for the tender opened on 15th October 2025, under the authority of the Public Works Department, Pune Region. The project attracted interest from experienced contractors due to its strategic importance and moderate execution length. Following evaluation of the submitted bids, Kshatriya Construction emerged as the lowest quoting bidder.
The total project value is Rs. 199,878,871.4, reflecting a significant investment in strengthening district road infrastructure. Upon completion, the improved road will reduce travel time, enhance connectivity between SH-196 and MDR-30, and support socio-economic development in Kolhapur district.
