PWD – Roads and Bridges, under the Ujjain CE Ujjain Zone, invited a tender for the Widening and Upgradation of the Melkheda to Chandwasa–Dharmrajeshwar Road. The project covers a total stretch of 16.00 km and includes dedicated electric work, aimed at improving roadway efficiency, illumination, and overall travel safety. The work comes under the Mandsaur Division, a region where improved road connectivity plays a vital role in supporting local mobility and tourism.
The project focuses on strengthening the existing route and widening it to support increasing traffic loads. Once upgraded, the Melkheda–Chandwasa–Dharmrajeshwar corridor will offer smoother, safer, and faster movement for commuters, pilgrims, and transport operators. The inclusion of electrification work will enhance nighttime visibility, reduce accident risks, and ensure a more reliable transportation experience across the stretch.
The tender’s financial bid was opened on 29th October 2025 by PWD – Roads and Bridges, Ujjain CE Ujjain Zone. Several firms participated in the competitive bidding process, ensuring transparency and fair evaluation. Heera Ram Godara emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder and was identified as the contractor offering the minimum value for executing the project.
The total project cost is Rs. 223,959,112.2, marking a considerable investment in strengthening regional infrastructure. Once completed, the upgraded road will boost local development, improve access to Dharmrajeshwar, and support economic activities in the Mandsaur District.
