The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through P3 Delhi, Regional Office Patna and NH Division–Biharsharif, has invited a tender for maintenance of National Highway 30A from Km 0.00 to Km 71.774 for the year 2024–25 in the state of Bihar. The work is proposed under the Performance-Based Maintenance Contract (PBMC) Mode, which focuses on long-term upkeep and maintaining road quality standards through measurable performance outcomes.
The project scope covers routine and periodic maintenance works, strengthening the pavement structure, improving riding quality and ensuring safety measures along the entire 71.774 km stretch. Activities include pothole repairs, crack sealing, shoulder restoration, drainage clearing and signage improvement aimed at preventing deterioration caused by heavy traffic and climatic conditions.
Adopting the PBMC mode enables better accountability, cost efficiency and timely completion, as contractors must ensure consistent road serviceability throughout the contract period. This initiative plays a vital role in supporting local transportation, agricultural logistics, freight movement and daily commuting along NH 30A, connecting key towns and rural belts.
The financial bid opened on 29 October 2025, and Bikash Kumar quoted the minimum value for the maintenance project. The total project cost is ₹491,95,61,26.8.
