The Public Works Department Madhya Pradesh under the Bhopal CE Bridge Zone PWD invited a tender for the Narmada Pedestrian Suspension Bridge JP Chowk Omkareshwar Project. The project involves the construction of a High-Level Pedestrian Suspension Bridge across the Narmada River near J.P. Chowk at Omkareshwar, Khandwa district, to be developed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.
The scope of work includes construction of the suspension bridge structure along with approach pathways, safety systems, support structures, and allied civil works. The project is aimed at improving pedestrian movement and ensuring safer access for pilgrims, tourists, and local residents visiting Omkareshwar, an important religious and tourism destination.
As per the tender details, the financial bid was opened on 23 April 2026 by the PWD authorities under the Bhopal Bridge Zone. Following the evaluation of submitted bids, Aquatic Pump Industries emerged as the bidder quoting the minimum value for execution of the project.
The total project value stands at Rs. 430,217,139, reflecting a major investment in bridge infrastructure and tourism-related development. Upon completion, the pedestrian suspension bridge will improve accessibility, reduce movement constraints, and enhance visitor experience at Omkareshwar.
