The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through its P7 Delhi division and RO Thiruvananthapuram office, has invited a tender for a significant infrastructure project under the CRIF Setu Bandhan Scheme 2022–23. The project involves the construction of an approach bridge for the Ponmundam Bypass Road Over Bridge (ROB), which will connect to the State Highway (SH) network in Malappuram district, Kerala.
This bridge project is part of the central initiative to enhance regional connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the district. Once completed, the approach bridge will facilitate smoother and safer vehicular movement by linking key areas within the state highway corridor.
The financial bid for the tender was officially opened on April 4, 2025. The bidding process was jointly managed by MoRTH’s P7 Delhi unit and the Thiruvananthapuram regional office, ensuring a fair and competitive environment. The project attracted attention from multiple construction firms due to its strategic importance in Kerala’s transport infrastructure.
PMR Construction Company emerged as the lowest bidder during the evaluation of the financial proposals. The total value of the project is estimated at ₹25,53,72,621, and it is expected to bring major improvements in connectivity and traffic management in Malappuram district.
