The Public Works Department – Roads and Bridges, under the Bhopal Chief Engineer (Bridge Zone), has invited a tender for the construction of a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at Level Crossing No. 07, located between Km 7/19–21 near Vikram Nagar Railway Station on the Ujjain–Dewas Broad Gauge railway track in District Ujjain. This project is aimed at improving road safety and eliminating traffic disruptions caused by frequent railway crossings.
The scope of work includes the complete construction of the ROB, along with shifting of electrical utilities, such as HT/LT lines, transformers (Xmers), and the installation of street lighting. The project will help ensure smooth and uninterrupted vehicular movement, reduce congestion, and enhance commuter convenience in the Vikram Nagar area.
The financial bid for this tender opened on 4th October 2025, under the supervision of the PWD Roads and Bridges wing of the Bhopal CE Bridge Zone. The tender received competitive participation due to its technical scope and importance for urban traffic management. After bid evaluation, Paresh S. Patel was declared the lowest bidder.
The total project value stands at Rs. 259,863,490.6, representing a substantial investment in transport infrastructure for Ujjain district. Once completed, the ROB will significantly improve connectivity, enhance safety, and support long-term urban development along the Ujjain–Dewas corridor.
