D B Developer Got A Project: Thorough upgradation and resurfacing of Taratala Road old and new from Diamond Harbour Road crossing to Ramnagar crossing

The Kolkata Port Trust, Kolkata Dock System (KoPT), Civil – KDS, through the Office of the Chief Engineer / Sr. Executive Engineer (Contract), has invited a tender for a comprehensive upgradation and resurfacing project on Taratala Road. The work covers both the old and new stretches from Diamond Harbour Road Crossing to Ramnagar Crossing, a route that serves as an important commercial corridor connecting major industrial and logistics hubs in Kolkata.
The project involves thorough resurfacing using heavy-duty paver blocks laid over the existing bituminous surface, designed to withstand sustained heavy vehicle movement typical of port-connected roads. This treatment will significantly enhance surface stability, load resistance and lifespan. Additionally, the scope includes reconstruction and repairing of side drainage systems, enabling efficient water discharge and preventing waterlogging issues that commonly affect traffic flow and pavement durability in this region.
Along with surfacing and drainage repairs, the project also includes miscellaneous civil works essential for strengthening road functionality and improving pedestrian and vehicular movement. These improvements are expected to contribute to smoother cargo transportation, reduced transit time, and overall better connectivity around Taratala and adjoining commercial zones.
The financial bid was opened on 7 October 2025, with D B Developer quoting the minimum value. The total project cost is ₹188,47,70,79.1.
