PWD – CE AND AS, along with ACE Kota, SE Kota, and EE Sangod, invited a tender for the Strengthening and Widening of the Kurad–Dhoti–Mandap–Shyampura–Sangod Road (MDR-178) located in Kota district. This project aims to upgrade one of the key regional corridors that connects several rural and semi-urban settlements with the town of Sangod. The development focuses on improving road standards to ensure smooth mobility and better transport efficiency.
The scope of work includes widening the existing carriageway, strengthening pavement layers, constructing drainage structures, and enhancing overall road safety features. MDR-178 is an important route for agricultural produce movement, local trade, and daily commuting. Strengthening this corridor will reduce travel time, improve riding quality, and support economic growth by providing reliable road connectivity across the region.
The financial bid for the project was opened on 11th September 2025 by PWD – CE AND AS, ACE Kota, SE Kota, and EE Sangod. The evaluation was carried out in accordance with departmental guidelines to maintain transparency and competitiveness among bidders. The project received strong participation due to its scale and regional importance.
Among all competing contractors, Balbir Singh Contractors quoted the minimum value for executing the work. The overall project value stands at Rs. 376,382,200.2, marking a major infrastructural investment aimed at upgrading MDR-178 and improving long-term transportation efficiency in Kota district.
