The PWD – CE & AS, ACE Ajmer, SE Tonk, and EE Tonk invited a tender for the Widening and Strengthening work of the Jhilai to Bahad road up to the District Border via Khidgi, Bassi, and Kheda in District Tonk. This road plays a crucial role in regional connectivity, linking multiple villages and supporting daily movement for residents, transporters, and local businesses. Upgrading this important stretch is essential to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and ensure long-term durability in line with growing transportation needs of the district.
The proposed widening and strengthening will significantly improve riding comfort, reduce travel time, and boost economic activities by creating smoother access between rural and semi-urban areas. As Tonk district continues to expand in agricultural and commercial sectors, improved road infrastructure remains vital for sustained development.
The financial bid for the project was opened on 16th September 2025 by the competent authorities under the PWD Ajmer Zone. Among all the bidders, Shiv Charan Sharma emerged as the lowest bidder, securing the position to execute the project. The project value has been finalized at ₹201,970,532.3, reflecting the scale and importance of the work planned along this strategic route.
