The Public Works Department (PWD) – Roads and Bridges, under the Jabalpur CE Central Zone, has issued a tender for the upgradation of the Barela–Padwar Road, covering a stretch of 10.20 kilometres. This project also includes electrification work along the route and falls under the jurisdiction of the Road Sub-Division, Jabalpur. It has been floated as the first call for this development work.
The upgradation aims to improve road quality, enhance traffic capacity, and ensure safer travel conditions for commuters. The inclusion of electrification works will boost night-time safety and visibility, aligning with the state’s efforts to modernise rural and semi-urban infrastructure.

Following bid evaluation, R K Construction emerged as the lowest bidder, securing the contract to execute the works. The company’s selection reflects confidence in their expertise and delivery capabilities in road construction and associated services.
With an estimated value of ₹18,70,88,025.6, this project represents a notable investment in improving Jabalpur’s road network and ensuring reliable transport links for local communities.
