The Public Works Region–Pune, operating through the Public Works Circle Pune and the Public Works Division-Pune, has floated a tender for a major public infrastructure project. The proposed work involves the construction of the Mahila and Bal Vikas Bhavan Ahilya Bhavan, which will be located within the premises of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Udhyog Kendra, at Survey No. 22 B, Yerwada, Pune – 6. This initiative represents a key step toward creating inclusive development spaces for women and children.
The project also includes comprehensive electrical work, ensuring the building will be equipped with modern systems to support administrative and public service functions. Once completed, the Bhavan is expected to serve as a central hub for women and child welfare activities in the region, contributing to social empowerment and access to government support schemes.
The financial bid for the project was officially opened on 19th May 2025, and it witnessed participation from several construction firms. This strong interest reflects the project’s relevance and scale in Pune’s public development agenda.
After the bid evaluation process, OMKAR CONSTRUCTION emerged as the lowest bidder, qualifying to undertake the execution of the project. The total estimated value of the project stands at ₹75,68,67,572.40, underlining the state’s substantial investment in public welfare infrastructure.
