The Public Works Department (PWD) – CE and AS, in collaboration with ACE-Ajmer, SE-Shahpura, and EE-Shahpura, has floated a tender for the widening and strengthening of a key road section. The project covers the stretch from Thalkalan to Bhoran Chouraha on MDR-279, extending from Km 114/0 to Km 129/0. This upgrade is set to enhance regional connectivity and improve road safety for commuters.
This development aims to handle growing traffic volumes, minimize travel delays, and ensure smoother transit for both passenger and freight movement. Once completed, the strengthened road will play a crucial role in supporting local infrastructure and economic activity in the Shahpura region.
The financial bid for the project was opened on 28th March 2025, under the supervision of PWD – CE AND AS, and associated authorities from the Ajmer zone. The bidding process attracted multiple contractors interested in executing this infrastructure enhancement.
M/s Utsav Construction quoted the lowest bid, making them the most likely contractor for this important project. The total estimated cost is around ₹23.66 crore (₹236,673,095.3), marking a significant investment in regional road infrastructure.
