M/s Tanor Engineering Got A Project: One time improvement of Shillong-Jowai Road including construction of pucca Side Drain with footpath

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through its NER and SARDP-NE Division, Regional Office Guwahati, and executed by the NH Meghalaya PWD, Shillong, invited a tender for critical improvement works on the Shillong–Jowai Road. The project specifically covers the stretch from km 54.200 to km 69.200, with a total length of 15.00 km, in the State of Meghalaya.
The work involves one-time improvement of the road corridor, with emphasis on strengthening the carriageway to ensure smoother traffic flow and enhanced safety. A key feature of the project is the construction of pucca side drains with integrated footpaths, designed to improve both drainage management and pedestrian movement. This dual approach addresses frequent waterlogging during monsoon while simultaneously providing safe walking space for local commuters. The development forms an important step in modernizing the Shillong–Jowai Road, a crucial lifeline that supports passenger movement and economic activities in the region.
The financial bid for this tender was opened on 29th August 2025. Among the bidders, M/s Tanor Engineering emerged with the minimum quoted value, placing them as the lowest bidder (L1) for project execution. The total project value has been fixed at ₹145,310,100 (approximately ₹14.53 crore), reflecting the government’s continued investment in strengthening road connectivity across Meghalaya.
