The Engineer-in-Chief (EIC-Civil) has invited a tender for a major infrastructure project aimed at enhancing road connectivity in the Koraput district of Odisha. The proposed work involves the improvement of the Parvatipur–Laxmipur Road, covering a substantial stretch from Km 12/600 to Km 68/800, under the State Plan scheme.
This roadway is vital for ensuring seamless travel across tribal and rural regions, enabling smoother transportation of goods, better access to education and healthcare, and promoting socio-economic development. The improvement will enhance the structural strength, durability, and overall quality of the road, especially important for regions prone to heavy monsoon and difficult terrain.
The financial bid for this tender was officially opened on 1st May 2025. Several reputed construction firms submitted their proposals, indicating significant interest in upgrading the road infrastructure in Odisha’s remote districts. This competitive bidding ensures quality delivery and transparency in public works.
Following the evaluation of bids, M/s Saroj Kumar Sharma emerged as the lowest bidder, qualifying to undertake the execution of this essential road development project. The total project value is estimated at ₹34,50,75,692.3, signaling a strong commitment by the state government towards infrastructure growth in underserved regions.
