The Public Works Department (PWD) – CE AND AS, in collaboration with ACE – Jodhpur, SE – Barmer, and EE – Gudamalani, has floated a key infrastructure tender aimed at upgrading rural road connectivity in the Barmer region. The project involves widening, strengthening, and construction of a bituminous (BT) road from Bhadrai (Dabli) to PH1 via Chack Guda to Jeevaniyon ki Dhani PH3 near the canal, ending at Dhorimana Road.
This route plays a significant role in connecting various remote settlements and agricultural zones. The road, once improved, is expected to boost movement between villages, facilitate faster access to markets, and improve logistics for farmers and traders across the region.
The financial bid was opened on 12th June 2025, and the process witnessed participation from several regional contractors. After evaluation, M/s Punamchand Bharmal from Deegave was identified as the lowest bidder, showcasing their cost-effective proposal and regional execution capability.
The total sanctioned value of the project is ₹19,40,29,725.2, reflecting the state’s investment in rural development. Once completed, the road will ensure safer, smoother, and more efficient travel across the identified stretch.
