The E-in-C Branch of the Military Engineer Services (MES), in coordination with the Chief Engineer Northern Command (CE NC) and Chief Engineer (Air Force) Udhampur, has invited a tender for a major infrastructure development project at Air Force Station Srinagar. This project aims to upgrade the existing aviation facilities to meet current and future operational requirements.
The scope of the tender includes the resurfacing of the existing runway and the construction of new technical buildings, along with various allied works. These enhancements are intended to bolster the air station’s efficiency, safety, and capacity to support high-performance aircraft and other critical defense operations.
The financial bid for the project was opened on February 10, 2025. The E-in-C Branch of MES, along with CE NC and CE (AF) Udhampur, evaluated all submissions, identifying CHETAK ENTERPRISES LIMITED as the lowest bidder. The company’s proposal adhered to the required specifications and pricing guidelines set by MES.
The estimated value of this large-scale defense infrastructure project is approximately ₹271.44 crores(2714400000). Once awarded, the project is expected to be executed in a time-bound manner to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing air base activities.
