The Directorate General Border Roads Organisation (BRO), through HQ CE (P) Hirak, Champawat, has invited a tender for major surfacing works on the Kondapalli–Dharmavaram road. This 20 km stretch is an important route for regional connectivity, supporting both civilian movement and defence logistics in the area. The project aims to strengthen the pavement structure by applying high-quality layers as per MoRTH specifications to ensure long-term durability and improved riding comfort.
The scope of work includes providing and laying 15 cm Granular Sub Base (GSB) and 75 mm Water Bound Macadam (WBM), which form the foundational layers of the road. Additionally, the surfacing profile includes 50 mm Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) and 40 mm Bituminous Concrete (BC) to enhance pavement strength and surface performance. The tender also covers the application of prime coat and tack coat to ensure proper bonding between layers for a uniform, long-lasting finish.
This project will help improve road reliability in hilly terrain, minimise maintenance challenges and support uninterrupted movement along this crucial corridor. By following MoRTH standards, BRO aims to deliver a reinforced pavement structure capable of handling heavy traffic loads and varying weather conditions. The upgraded stretch will contribute significantly to improved mobility and safety in the region.
The financial bid opened on 12 October 2025, with Vijay Constructions submitting the lowest quote. The total project cost is ₹261,86,44,23.5.
