The Directorate General Border Roads Organisation (BRO), through HQ CE (P) Sampark, Jammu, has invited a significant tender focused on strengthening key bridge infrastructure along a strategic route. The project aims to replace ageing structures with modern Pre-Stressed Modular Technology (PMT) bridges to ensure safer and smoother connectivity for both civilian and defence mobility in the region.
The first component of the project involves the upgradation of the existing PERU bridge at Km 27.595 by constructing a new 65 m span PMT bridge. This will enhance load-bearing capacity and improve traffic flow on this critical link. The second structure covered under the tender is the 60.45 m span RCC T-Beam bridge at Dhunari (Km 48.846), which will be replaced with another 65 m span PMT bridge for long-term structural reliability.
The third and largest segment includes the reconstruction of the 365 m span RCC T-Beam bridge at Ujh (Km 54.380). Modern construction techniques will be adopted to ensure high durability, improved safety standards and uninterrupted movement across this vital stretch. Collectively, these upgrades will significantly improve regional connectivity and align with BRO’s infrastructure enhancement goals.
The financial bid opened on 26 October 2025, with V.K. Gupta & Associates quoting the minimum value. The total project cost is ₹29,97,00,000.
