New road project for upgradation of road in leh The work order is from BRO. The project is  estimated at 39 Cr.

ROAD 

Ladakh is connected to the main land through two roads namely Leh-Srinagar national highway and Leh-Manali road. These two roads remains open only during summer months and during the winter it remains closed for more than 7 months due to closure of the passes (Zojila, Rohtang Pass, Baralacha, Changla) Route 5: Srinagar – Kargil – Leh – Khardung La – Nubra Valley – Chang La – Tso Pangong – Tso Moriri – Tso Kar – Tanglang La – Sarchu – Manali. This route will offer you the best of both Manali – Leh Highway and Srinagar – Leh Highwayonly light motor vehicles are allowed, in fact only cars. Heavy vehicles and two-wheelers including bikes, are not yet allowed to travel on Manali Leh Highway. In 2021, Manali Leh Highway was thrown open for tourists by the middle of April 2021.

LOCATION

leh is the joint capital and largest city of the region administered by India as a union territory of Ladakh. operates Delhi to Leh daily with multiple flights during peak time. Passengers connect in Delhi for other destinations. there is no railway service currently in Ladakh, however 2 railway routes are proposed- the Bilaspur–Leh line and Srinagar–Kargil–Leh line.
