The Engineer-in-Chief (Civil) has floated an important infrastructure tender aimed at enhancing rural road connectivity in the Kandhamal district of Odisha. This tender falls under the State Plan initiative and focuses on the improvement, widening, and strengthening of a critical road section that serves as a key transport link for local communities.
The project specifically covers the Gochhapada–Balandapada–Malikuda road, stretching from kilometer 24/000 to 29/273, totaling over 5 kilometers. The upgrade includes widening of the existing road and strengthening of the pavement to support improved traffic flow and durability, especially important during the monsoon season and for daily rural commuting.
The financial bid opening took place on 2nd June 2025 under the supervision of the EIC-CIVIL authorities. Several contractors participated, highlighting growing interest in state-funded infrastructure upgrades. Each bid was evaluated for technical feasibility and financial viability.
Among all the bids, Srinibash Mishra emerged as the lowest bidder, offering a competitive quote for the project. The total estimated value of the contract stands at ₹19,34,64,425, reflecting a significant investment in the road infrastructure of Kandhamal.
Once awarded and executed, this project is expected to ease transportation for locals, enhance access to markets and services, and contribute to the district’s overall development.
