The Public Works Department (PWD) – Roads and Bridges, through the Chief Engineer, Central Zone, Jabalpur, has invited a tender for the upgradation of the Balpur–Dhanora Road. The project covers a length of 17.50 km and also includes associated electrification works under Sub-division Lakhnadon. This initiative is designed to improve both road quality and supporting infrastructure, ensuring better connectivity and safer travel for commuters.
Upgradation of this road is expected to play a significant role in enhancing regional transport and accessibility. Electrification along the route will further improve road safety during nighttime travel and reduce accident risks, while also boosting connectivity for nearby rural settlements.
The tender’s financial bid was opened on 29th August 2025 by PWD authorities in Jabalpur. The evaluation process considered technical qualifications and financial competitiveness of bidders to ensure efficient execution of the work.
The minimum value was quoted by Ravi Shankar Jaiswal, making the firm the lowest bidder and a likely candidate for the award of the project. Their proposal demonstrated a balance of affordability and capability to undertake road and electrification works effectively.
The total estimated value of the project is ₹32,56,57,887.3, representing a substantial public investment aimed at strengthening road infrastructure and safety in Madhya Pradesh.
