R. Krishnamurthy & Co Got A project: Construction of Mangrove Conservation Centre, Pichavaram

The Tamil Nadu Coastal Restoration Mission invited a tender for the Mangrove Conservation Centre Pichavaram in Pichavaram. The project aims to establish a dedicated conservation centre to protect and promote the rich mangrove ecosystem of the region. Pichavaram is known for its unique mangrove forests, and this initiative reflects the state’s commitment to environmental sustainability and ecological preservation.
The scope of work includes the construction of a modern facility designed for conservation, research, awareness, and eco-tourism activities. The centre will feature administrative spaces, interpretation areas, and visitor facilities, along with necessary infrastructure such as water supply, electrical systems, sanitation, and landscape development. The project is expected to support biodiversity conservation and enhance public awareness about the importance of mangrove ecosystems.
As per the tender details, the financial bid was opened on 7 February 2026 by the Tamil Nadu Coastal Restoration Mission. After evaluation of bids submitted by participating contractors, R Krishnamurthy and Co emerged as the bidder quoting the minimum value for the execution of the project.
The total project value stands at Rs. 206,265,056.7, indicating a focused investment in environmental infrastructure. Once completed, the Mangrove Conservation Centre at Pichavaram will contribute to ecological protection, research development, and sustainable tourism in Cuddalore district.
