The Public Works Department (PWD) – CE and AS, along with ACE Kota, SE Bundi, and EE Bundi, has invited a tender for the construction of a high-level bridge over the Mej River. This significant infrastructure project is located on the Uniyara–Bijoliya route via Indragarh–Lakheri in Bundi district, Rajasthan. The project aims to strengthen regional connectivity and ensure all-weather access across this important river route.
The proposed bridge is a vital link for commuters, transporters, and local communities. Currently, low-level crossings on this route face submergence issues during the monsoon, disrupting travel and transport. The new high-level bridge is expected to eliminate these issues by providing a durable and elevated passage across the Mej River, benefiting rural and semi-urban settlements in the area.
The financial bid for the project was officially opened on 8th May 2025, receiving several competitive bids from reputed contractors, which underscores the importance and urgency of this development initiative.
After the evaluation process, Parul Construction Company was declared the lowest bidder, qualifying to undertake the execution of this vital infrastructure project. The total estimated value of the project is ₹20,37,18,668.1, representing a significant public investment aimed at boosting mobility and resilience in Bundi district’s road network.
