The Public Works Department – Roads and Bridges, under the Bhopal Chief Engineer (Bridge Zone), has invited a tender for the construction of a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at Level Crossing No. 02, located at Km 2/45.49 between Ujjain–Vikramgarh in the Indore Section on the Ujjain–Maxi Road. This project is aimed at eliminating traffic congestion and improving road–rail coordination in District Ujjain.
The scope of work includes the complete railway portion of the ROB, along with shifting of electrical infrastructure, such as HT/LT lines, transformers, and the provision of street lighting. The project is critical for ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow, enhancing commuter safety, and reducing delays caused by frequent train crossings on this busy route.
The financial bid for the tender opened on 4th October 2025, with the process managed by the PWD Roads and Bridges wing under the Bhopal CE Bridge Zone. The tender attracted multiple experienced contractors due to its technical complexity and strategic importance. After evaluation of the bids, Paresh S. Patel emerged as the lowest bidder.
The total project value is Rs. 339,696,872.2, representing a significant infrastructure investment in Ujjain district. Upon completion, the ROB will streamline vehicular movement, improve safety standards, and strengthen regional connectivity along the Ujjain–Maxi corridor.
