The Directorate General Border Roads Organisation (BRO), through HQ CE (P) Chetak, Bikaner, has invited a tender for major surfacing works aimed at improving the Pithewala–Kalibuli–Bahla road. This stretch, maintained under 96 RCC/45 TF, plays an important role in supporting regional mobility and ensuring smooth movement for both defence and civilian transportation. The project focuses on upgrading the entire 30 km section with high-quality pavement layers and essential road safety features.
The scope of work includes providing and laying 7.5 cm Wet Mix Macadam (WMM), 6.00 cm Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) and 4.00 cm Bituminous Concrete (BC). These layers will enhance the overall strength, durability and riding comfort of the road. In addition, the project covers cleaning of the road surface, applying prime and tack coats to ensure proper bonding between layers, and laying 2.5 mm thick road markings to improve visibility and safety.
The tender also outlines the need for strict adherence to quality standards, timely completion and proper execution of surfacing activities to ensure the long-term sustainability of the upgraded road. With extensive pavement rehabilitation, the project aims to significantly improve road condition and enhance operational efficiency along this corridor.
The financial bid opened on 20 October 2025, where Om Prakash Jain and Company quoted the minimum value. The total tender value is ₹145,141,005.
