The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, under its World Bank Tenders initiative, has successfully concluded the tendering process for the balance works related to the rehabilitation and upgradation of the Ras-Beawar Section of National Highway (NH)-158 in the state of Rajasthan. This crucial project aims to transform the 30.050-kilometer stretch (from Km 0.000 to Km 30.050) into a 4-lane configuration.
This infrastructure development is being undertaken under the Gujarat National Highway Corridor Project (GNHCP) with financial assistance from the World Bank and is being executed on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode. This collaborative approach ensures quality construction and timely completion of this vital link in Rajasthan’s transportation network.
The financial bids for these remaining works were officially opened on March 6th, 2025, by the designated authorities representing the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways – World Bank Tenders. Following a thorough evaluation of the submitted proposals, NEW INDIA CONTRACTORS AND DEVELOPERS PRIVATE LIMITED emerged as the bidder with the minimum quoted value, thereby securing the contract for the completion of this significant upgradation project.
The total estimated value for the balance works of the four-laning of the Ras-Beawar Section of NH-158 amounts to Rs. 1,917,700,000. This substantial investment, supported by the World Bank, underscores the commitment to enhancing road infrastructure in Rajasthan, improving connectivity, boosting economic activities, and ensuring safer and more efficient transportation for the region.
