The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through its NER and SARDP-NE division along with RO Guwahati and the National Highway Division of Assam PWD-Guwahati, has invited a tender for critical improvement works on NH-329. The project includes the application of a Bituminous Concrete (BC) layer along with the balance work on the Diphu–Manja–Lumding stretch. This section was part of a previously foreclosed project and is being revived for completion under the new tender.
The work is aimed at improving the overall pavement quality and road strength in this key corridor of Assam. Applying a new BC layer will enhance driving comfort, increase road durability, and reduce future maintenance needs. The remaining work from the earlier project will also be completed to ensure continuity and uniform quality across the stretch.
NH-329 serves as a vital connection in the Northeast region, and this project is aligned with MoRTH’s efforts under the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme for North East (SARDP-NE). Improved infrastructure here is expected to facilitate smoother movement of goods and passengers, while also boosting local economies.
The financial bid was opened on April 17, 2025. M/S T. Tachu and Co. emerged as the lowest bidder. The total estimated project value is ₹41,72,50,000.
