The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through P1 Delhi, Regional Office Shimla, and Circle Shahpur, has invited a tender for the construction of a bridge over the Swan River at Km 13.450 on National Highway-503A in District Una, Himachal Pradesh. This project is aimed at strengthening highway infrastructure and improving connectivity across an important river crossing in the region.
The proposed bridge will play a crucial role in ensuring uninterrupted vehicular movement on NH-503A, which serves as a key route for commuters, freight transport, and regional traffic. Construction of a modern bridge structure over the Swan River will enhance safety, reduce travel disruptions during monsoon seasons, and support smoother transportation of goods and passengers. The financial bid for the tender was opened on 28th October 2025 by MoRTH under the administrative supervision of P1 Delhi, RO Shimla, and Circle Shahpur. After evaluation of bids, M/s Satish Kumar Sharma, Government Contractor, emerged as the lowest bidder, quoting the minimum value for execution of the work. The tender process was carried out in accordance with established procurement guidelines to ensure transparency and fairness.
The total project cost is Rs. 185,399,997, representing a significant public investment in national highway infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh. Upon completion, the bridge is expected to improve connectivity in Una district, enhance road safety, and contribute to regional economic development.
