The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through its P6 Delhi division in coordination with the Regional Office Bangalore, has invited a tender for an important highway development project in Karnataka. This initiative is part of the NH(O) Annual Plan 2023–24, aimed at improving regional connectivity and ensuring safer road infrastructure.
The proposed project focuses on the widening of the NH-73 New Spur Road from Ujire to Dharmasthala and Periyashanthi. The scope includes upgrading the existing road to a two-lane configuration with paved shoulders, which will enhance the efficiency of vehicular movement, especially in this frequently traveled pilgrimage and tourism route. The project will be carried out under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), combining public and private investment for optimal execution.
The financial bid for this tender was officially opened on February 10, 2025. After evaluating all submitted bids, M/s Mugrody Construction was identified as the lowest bidder. Their proposal complied with both technical and financial guidelines laid out by MoRTH.
The estimated cost of the project stands at approximately ₹315 crores(3150000000). Once awarded, the work is expected to begin shortly, providing better connectivity and boosting the local economy in the region.
