The Chief Engineer Gorakhpur Zone PWD, operating under the GORAKHPUR CIRCLE PWD Gorakhpur, has initiated a significant road development project aimed at strengthening rural infrastructure in eastern Uttar Pradesh. A tender was floated for the widening and strengthening of the Hariya to Ekla road via Bhiloura, Pewanpur, Ahirouli, Chapiya, and Talnawar, covering key local routes essential for daily commuting and agricultural transportation.
This infrastructure project not only includes construction work but also provides for a 5-year maintenance commitment, ensuring long-term durability and service quality. The route serves as a vital link between multiple rural habitations and markets, and its upgradation will significantly reduce travel time, improve road safety, and boost local economic activity.
The financial bid for the project was opened on 14th May 2025, attracting various contractors. Following a thorough evaluation process, M/s Maa Sharda Nirman emerged as the lowest bidder, securing the opportunity to execute the project.
With a sanctioned project value of ₹12,84,71,550, this road development work is a part of the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department’s continued efforts to enhance rural connectivity under its regional development programs.
