The Chief Engineer, Devipatan (Gonda) Zone, PWD Gonda, along with the Superintending Engineer, Gonda Circle, has invited a tender for the Widening and Strengthening of the Itiyathok–Shrinagar Road. This road is an important regional link in Gonda district, connecting several rural settlements to major markets, administrative centers, and social infrastructure. Upgrading the corridor is essential to ensure smoother travel, improved safety, and better access for both local commuters and transport vehicles.
The work proposed under this project includes widening the existing carriageway, strengthening pavement layers, improving road geometry, and enhancing surface quality to support increasing traffic volumes. Additional scope elements include drainage development, shoulder strengthening, culvert improvements, and safety features such as signage and markings. Once completed, the upgraded corridor will offer improved connectivity and reduce travel time between Itiyathok, Shrinagar, and adjoining habitations.
The financial bid opening is scheduled for 25th September 2025, under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, Devipatan Zone, and the SE Gonda Circle. Multiple bidders participated in the tendering process, reflecting the importance of this road upgrade for regional development and improved mobility in the Devipatan division.
Among all participants, M/s Chopra Traders submitted the lowest bid, emerging as the minimum value bidder for the project. The total sanctioned value for the widening and strengthening works stands at ₹38,74,49,405.5, marking a substantial investment in enhancing the district’s road infrastructure.
