The Chief Engineer, Devipatan (Gonda) Zone, PWD Gonda, along with the Superintending Engineer, Gonda Circle, PWD Gonda, has invited a tender for the Widening and Strengthening of the Pilibhit–Basti Road (SH-26) from Ch. 354.330 to 375.00. This state highway stretch is a crucial inter-district connector, supporting regional mobility, trade movement, and public transport. Upgrading this corridor is important to ensure safer, faster, and more reliable connectivity between key destinations.
The project scope includes widening the existing carriageway, strengthening pavement layers, improving road geometry, and providing adequate side drains and shoulders. Cross-drainage structures, signage, and safety features will also be developed to meet state highway standards. These improvements aim to enhance load-bearing capacity, reduce travel time, and ensure smoother movement for commercial vehicles and daily commuters.
The financial bid opening is scheduled for 25th September 2025, under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, Devipatan Zone, and the SE, Gonda Circle. During the financial evaluation, M/s Chopra Traders has emerged as the bidder with the minimum quoted value, complying with the tender’s financial requirements and competitive bidding norms.
The total project value is ₹364,782,767.6, marking a significant investment toward upgrading State Highway-26. Once completed, the strengthened road section will boost regional connectivity, support economic activity, and improve transport reliability across the Pilibhit–Basti corridor.
