Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through its P7 Delhi division, Regional Office Chennai, and NH Division-Thirunelveli, has invited a tender for maintenance and repair works on NH-32 in Tamil Nadu. The targeted stretch includes multiple sections: Km 0.000 to 11.950, Km 12.100 to 13.700, and Km 16.700 to 20.400, covering a total of 17.25 km along the Thoothukudi–Tiruchendur–Kanyakumari Road.
This project is being undertaken under the Performance-Based Maintenance Contract (PBMC) model for the financial year 2024–25. The PBMC approach ensures that the selected contractor maintains the required road quality throughout the contract duration, emphasizing accountability and long-term performance over traditional maintenance methods.
The financial bids for the tender were officially opened on 24th February 2025. Several qualified contractors submitted their bids, and after evaluation, the lowest quote was provided by K. Rajamohamed, positioning the firm as the leading candidate for the contract award.
The estimated project value stands at approximately ₹22.36 crore(223586538.4). Once awarded, the contractor will be responsible for timely and quality maintenance of the designated NH-32 stretch, aimed at enhancing commuter safety and road longevity.
