Jashjit Mukherjee Got A Project: Construction of 4 no. sluice cum double lane RCC bridge

The Irrigation and Waterways Department, under CE – South and Budget, Eastern Circle, has floated a tender for the construction of four sluice cum double-lane RCC bridges on the embankment road at South 24 Parganas. The project is located along the Dhola–Nishchintapur road, which also functions as a crucial embankment route, and falls within Santhiberia, Gobindapur, and Laxmipur areas of Kulpi Block and PS, South 24 Parganas district.
The proposed bridge structures are to be constructed at chainages 8.427 km, 9.640 km, 9.900 km, and 10.148 km. These sluice cum bridges are intended to improve road connectivity and also enhance flood management by facilitating proper drainage and water flow control in this coastal zone, which is prone to tidal influences and monsoon flooding.
The financial bid was opened on 23rd April 2025 by officials of the Irrigation and Waterways Department, CE – South and Budget, Eastern Circle. After technical and financial evaluation, Jashjit Mukherjee was declared the lowest bidder for the project.
The total value of this infrastructure project is ₹16,23,78,700. The work is expected to commence soon after final approvals, supporting better rural infrastructure and resilience in South 24 Parganas.
