The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), operating under its Corporate Office in New Delhi, has invited a tender for One-Time Improvement work on the Silchar–Vairengte section of NH-306 (New) in the state of Assam. The improvement work will cover selected locations between Km 8.900 (Sonabarighat) and Km 42.800 (Lailapur), under the scope of development for the financial year 2024–25.
This project aims to enhance road quality, safety, and overall driving experience on this strategically important stretch of highway. NH-306 serves as a key connector between Assam and Mizoram, and the proposed work is expected to address deteriorated sections, improving long-term usability and regional connectivity.
The financial bids for this tender were officially opened on 27th February 2025. The bidding process witnessed participation from several infrastructure firms, and following a detailed evaluation, J Infratech Limited emerged as the lowest bidder for the project.
The estimated cost of the improvement work is approximately ₹56.59 crore(56,59,30,125.40). Once awarded, the selected contractor will carry out repairs and upgrades as per NHIDCL’s quality and performance standards, ensuring sustainable infrastructure benefits for the region.
