The Public Works Department (PWD), through the Chief Engineer (CE) R&B Pir Chenab, in association with the Superintending Engineer (SE) R&B Doda–Kishtwar and Executive Engineer (EE) R&B Paddar, has invited a tender for a major road construction project. The proposed work covers the construction of a road from KP Galahar Road (Km 1st RD 10000) to Chingnana, passing through Galahar Lower Bronan, Bhata Upper Bronan, and Padder.
This project is part of the region’s ongoing efforts to improve road connectivity in hilly and remote areas, enhancing accessibility for residents and boosting local economic activities. The road will serve as a critical link for multiple villages, enabling smoother transportation of goods, improved access to healthcare and education, and promoting tourism potential in the Paddar region.
The financial bid for the tender was opened on 28th July 2025, following established procurement procedures. The bidding process saw active participation from various contractors specializing in hill road construction.
The lowest quoted value was submitted by contractor Imtiaz Ahmed Shan, offering a competitive rate while ensuring adherence to the technical and quality requirements of the project.
With a total project value of ₹102,462,150.9, this initiative represents a significant infrastructure investment aimed at bridging connectivity gaps in the Pir Chenab region.
