The Public Works Roads Department (PWRD) has announced a major infrastructure development project under the State-Owned Priority Development (General) scheme for the year 2024–25. This project aims to improve urban connectivity and enhance road quality in vital city corridors of Assam.
The scope of work includes the improvement and renovation of five important roads: Hatgaon Bhetapara Road, Kalakhetra Road, Dr. R. P. Road, Dr. B. N. Saikia Road, and G. S. Road. These stretches serve as arterial roads in the region, catering to high traffic flow and supporting daily urban transit.
The tender process was initiated earlier this year, with active participation from multiple contractors across the state. After a thorough evaluation process, the financial bid was officially opened on 13th June 2025 by the concerned department.
