The Public Works Department (PWD) under the Roads and Bridges Division, Bhopal CE Bridge Zone, has issued a tender for a significant infrastructure initiative in Ujjain. The project involves the construction of a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) near Freeganj Over Bridge, stretching from Chamunda Mata Mandir to Indira Gandhi Chouraha. The scope of work includes not only the construction of the ROB but also the railway portion construction and electrical infrastructure modifications. As per official sources, the financial bid for the tender was opened on April 3, 2025. Among the participating firms, Chetan Construction Co. quoted the minimum bid, positioning itself as a likely contender for this high-value project. The project carries an estimated cost of Rs 58,15,34,500, reflecting the scale and technical requirements of the undertaking.
This initiative marks another step by the PWD in modernizing urban transport infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh. Once completed, the ROB is expected to improve traffic mobility, boost local development, and enhance public safety through better road and electrical systems.
