The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), through its P3 Delhi Division, Regional Office Patna, and the NH Division Lakhisarai, invited a tender for Performance-Based Maintenance Contract (PBMC) works on National Highway 333. The maintenance stretch extends from Km 115.000 to Km 141.050, covering a length of 26.05 km, for the financial year 2024–25 in the state of Bihar.
Under the PBMC model, the contractor is required to not only carry out routine and periodic maintenance but also ensure that the highway consistently meets specified service-level requirements. This system prioritizes quality, accountability, and long-term durability of road assets by linking payments to performance rather than just the volume of works executed. The project is expected to enhance connectivity, road safety, and driving comfort along this important highway corridor, which supports both regional mobility and commercial transport activities.
The financial bid for this tender was opened on 18th August 2025, with Bikash Kumar emerging as the lowest bidder (L1). His bid secured the contract, making him the preferred contractor for this work. The total sanctioned project cost is ₹184,155,213.4 (approximately ₹18.42 crore).
