The Water Resources Department (WRD) – CE and AS, in association with ACE Udaipur Zone, SE Construction Circle Mahi Project, Banswara, and EE B & RC Division, Mahi Project Banswara, invited a tender for the construction of the Chayni Anicut on the Mahi River located at Village Chayni, Gram Panchayat Charpotiya, Tehsil Dhariyawad, District Pratapgarh. The project is a significant step toward improving water resource management and supporting agricultural activities in the region.
The Chayni Anicut aims to enhance irrigation potential, recharge groundwater levels, and ensure a sustainable water supply for nearby rural areas. This infrastructure will also help in mitigating seasonal water shortages and contribute to the socio-economic development of local communities dependent on agriculture.
The financial bid for this project was opened on 10th September 2025, under the supervision of the WRD authorities. The lowest bid was quoted by M/s Ashapura Construction, which has been awarded the project. The total project value amounts to ₹153,637,073.8 (₹15.36 crore).
