APU Constructions Got A project:Widening from Four Lane to Six Lane

The Highways Department – Construction and Maintenance Wing, under the Tiruvannamalai Circle, has invited a tender for a major infrastructure enhancement project focused on upgrading a crucial segment of the Pondy–Krishnagiri Road (NH 66). This project entails the widening of the existing four-lane stretch to six lanes from Km 101/500 to Km 103/750, including the widening, construction, and reconstruction of culverts at Km 102/4. The abandoned NH-66 stretch remains vital for improving vehicular movement and overall capacity in this region.
This road segment plays an essential role in inter-district traffic, linking industrial, rural, and urban zones. The widening initiative aims to decongest existing lanes, facilitate smoother traffic flow, and enhance overall commuter safety. Upgrading culverts is also a critical part of the plan to ensure effective drainage and road durability.
The financial bid for this tender was opened on 14th May 2025, drawing attention from several construction firms, which signals the importance of this high-impact project.
After evaluating the bids, APU Constructions emerged as the lowest bidder, qualifying them for project execution. The estimated value of the project is ₹32,98,96,022, marking a significant public investment in road capacity improvement and infrastructure modernization in Tamil Nadu.
