The Public Works Roads Department has invited a tender for the construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Bridge No. 506, located at Railway Km-352/7-8. This bridge will be built on the road connecting NH-31 to Vidyanuragi Biswanath Sarma Path at Ghagrapar in Nalbari district, Assam. The project is being undertaken under the State-Owned Priority Development (SOPD) initiative, which aims to strengthen core infrastructure across the state.
This ROB project is intended to replace a railway level crossing, thereby easing traffic flow and ensuring safety for daily commuters. Once completed, the structure will improve connectivity between NH-31 and key local areas, reduce waiting times at railway gates, and promote more efficient regional transportation.
The financial bid for this significant project was opened on March 1, 2025. Multiple infrastructure firms participated in the tender process, showcasing interest in contributing to Assam’s development through this major transportation upgrade. The bidding process was conducted with transparency and in accordance with departmental procedures.
ANUPAM NIRMAN PVT. LTD. emerged as the lowest bidder for the project. The estimated project cost is approximately ₹62.83 crore(628341360.3), reflecting the scale and importance of this infrastructure initiative.
