The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority through its Engineering Department invited a tender for the Shahad Railway Over Bridge Project. The project involves the design and construction of the Shahad Railway Over Bridge (ROB) on the Central Railway network, aimed at improving traffic movement and eliminating delays caused by railway level crossings.
The scope of work includes detailed engineering design, construction of the railway over bridge, approach roads, structural components, drainage arrangements, utility shifting, traffic safety measures, and other allied civil works. The project is intended to provide uninterrupted road connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance commuter safety in the Shahad area.
As per the tender details, the financial bid was opened on 11 May 2026 by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). Following evaluation of the bids submitted by participating contractors, Aakshya Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd. emerged as the bidder quoting the minimum value for execution of the project.
The total project value stands at Rs. 2,200,840,580, reflecting a major investment in urban transport infrastructure. Upon completion, the Shahad Railway Over Bridge will improve connectivity, reduce travel time, eliminate traffic bottlenecks at the railway crossing, and strengthen the transportation network in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
