The Engineer-in-Chief (Civil), Odisha has floated a tender for the construction of a High-Level (H.L.) Bridge over the river Kusumi at 3.500 km on the Pratapprasad–Darpanarayanpur road in the Nayagarh district. This project is part of the State Plan for the year 2024–25, aiming to enhance rural connectivity and ensure safe, year-round transportation.
The bridge will serve as a vital infrastructure link for commuters and transporters, particularly during monsoons when river crossings become risky or inaccessible. It is expected to improve access to remote areas, support local trade, and boost regional development.
The financial bid was opened on 3rd February 2025 by the EIC-Civil. Among several contenders, Amres Sai Construction Pvt. Ltd. quoted the lowest bid, qualifying as the L1 bidder for the project.
The estimated cost of the project is approximately INR 177951218.6, marking a significant investment in the region’s road and bridge infrastructure.
