The Public Works Department (PWD), under the Chief Engineer, Central Kashmir, along with the Srinagar South Circle and the Dalgate Division, has invited a tender for the four-laning of the Boulevard Road from Nehru Park to Kralsangri, covering the stretch from RD 2000 to RD 7000 (Balance Portion). Boulevard Road is one of Srinagar’s most significant urban corridors, running along the iconic Dal Lake and serving as a vital route for both local commuters and tourists.
The aim of this project is to decongest traffic, improve road capacity, and enhance overall travel comfort along this high-importance stretch. The widening to four lanes will support smoother vehicular movement, reduce bottlenecks, and further boost tourism-related mobility across the region. Upgrading this section is critical as it experiences heavy traffic flow and plays a central role in Srinagar’s urban transport network.
The financial bid for this tender opened on 29th October 2025, with the process overseen by the PWD authorities of Central Kashmir. Multiple construction firms participated due to the strategic location and economic value of the project. After bid evaluation, Shivam Build Con Associates emerged as the lowest bidder.
The total project cost amounts to Rs. 141,529,547.6, marking a significant development initiative aimed at improving road infrastructure, easing urban movement, and enhancing connectivity along the scenic Boulevard Road in Srinagar.
