The Directorate General Border Roads Organisation (BRO), through HQ CE (P) Sampark, Jammu, has invited a tender for the upgradation of key bridges under its jurisdiction. This initiative is part of BRO’s ongoing efforts to strengthen vital road infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring safe and uninterrupted connectivity in strategically important areas.
The project covers the replacement and upgradation of three existing bridges. At Km 27.595, the existing Peru Bridge will be upgraded with a 65 m span Permanent Modular (PMT) bridge. Similarly, at Km 48.846, the existing 60.45 m span RCC T-Beam Dhunari Bridge will be reconstructed as a 65 m span PMT bridge, ensuring higher load capacity and longer service life.
In addition, the project includes the upgradation of the 365 m span RCC T-Beam Ujh Bridge located at Km 54.380. The replacement with a more durable and permanent structure will address rising traffic demands and improve overall connectivity in the region. These works collectively aim to enhance road safety, streamline transportation, and support both civilian and defense logistics.
The financial bid opened on 26th August 2025, with V.K. Gupta & Associates quoting the minimum value. The total project cost is estimated at ₹29,97,00,000, reflecting the scale and importance of these bridge works.
